    Wakasa Washi is Japanese paper made entirely of mulberry. Because of its high durability, it is often used by calligraphers. It is also used for the famous Asakusa Kaminarimon (Thunder Gate) lantern. Washi for graduation ceremonies at elementary schools in Obama City is made here by the students themselves.
