Kaikoen

  • Yuji Maehara, Manager and Sous Chef

This seafood restaurant is located on the second floor of Fisherman's Wharf and overlooks Obama Bay. The chef himself uses the freshest seasonal local fish that are auctioned off at the Gyoren(?) market every morning, so we are confident that the quality of our fish is second to none. We recommend the "Wakasa Yomihime Gozen," which includes all of Obama's representative seafood: Wakasa Mahata, Yahyaku Hime Hirame, Fukui Salmon, and Obama Yoparai Mackerel.
  • A distinct flavor sought out by customers from outside the prefecture.

"Obama's Yopparai Saba Roasted Rice Bowl" uses a whole mackerel, so it's a very satisfying portion. We have many repeat customers from outside of the prefecture who come to our restaurant for our seafood dishes. We are proud of the variety of fish and shellfish that we handle, caught fresh every morning in Obama Bay, so please give it a try.
