Nishi-Ogawa Beach

  • Mr. Takahiro Nakayama

Nishi-Ogawa is a secluded beach located at the foot of Mt. Kusuyagadake. You have to go to great lengths to get there, so cars don't drive by, and even the locals don't come here often. Surrounded by mountains, the view of the ocean at West Ogawa is different from other beaches. The water is very clean. Some regular visitors from outside of the prefecture come here every year to enjoy such a view and the sea.
  • Strolling Along the Promenade and Enjoying Seafood

There are two beaches, one in the front and one in the back. It is also a good place for a morning stroll. On the back beach, you will see a rock called "otoguri," which is covered with pine trees. These pine trees were planted by all the locals and are growing nicely. Rowboats are available for rent at the guest house, so you can take a boat to the fishing raft and enjoy fishing. In the sea, we farm yellowtail, mahata, and Fukui salmon. You can also enjoy the fish raised here at the guest house.
